During Ecuador's Day of the Dead and Cuenca Independence Day holidays, I had the opportunity to travel to Latacunga for their annual La Mama Negra parade. La Mama Negra celebrates Ecuador's indigenous, Spanish, and African cultures. The entire parade was four hours in total and there were several hundreds of people there. I believe the best part was the amount of color and dances that were prepared for by various groups.
