Colonia, Uruguay

These are a collection of photos from my visit to Colonia, Uruguay in April.  Colonia del Sacaramento was founded by the Portuguese and is considered a World Hertiage Site by UNESCO.  I was able to receive a day tour of this beautiful and historic place by Buquebus.  I absolutely loved this town and the pace of life was extremely pleasant.  Uruguanians were some of the most courteous people I have met.  The Spanish of those present was very much like that in Argentina with a lot of Sha.

    1. Yes definitely! For lodging I recommend staying in the Buenos Aires area and visiting Colonia as a one-day trip. While there, there were several restuarants near the Church to which your tour guide points you to. I would suggest eating at any of those places and having a dish called El Chivito-it is a thin slice of beef with mozzarella, tomates, and a fried egg on top. Delicious!
